Why we need you

With your donation, we wish to provide funds for books and other teaching materials, so that a set of ten books is available for every class. Tools will be provided for the vocational school track. Building materials will be purchased for further facilities and their furnishment.

In addition, cisterns will be put into place to store rainwater running off the roofs. In order to provide for the primary medical care for all villagers, a small medical ward will be set up.

The costs will be reduced to a minimum through own initiatives. Since there are no study fees, however, financial assistance is much needed.

Seven students sharing a bench - this can change with your help

Clay stones for additional school buildings are produced on location

immediate project goals: acquisition of

  • school benches for two new classrooms of 40 students and to improve existing rooms. (about 400 Euros)
  • schoolbooks as teaching material and for small class sets ( 350 Euros)
  • also planned:
  • purchase of building materials for new classrooms as well as mortar, sheet metal, and pipes in order to build water storage units
  • purchase of building materials and medications to set up a small medical ward

Due to very expensive transport costs, we are limited to financial donations. Close, personal contact ensures that we are informed when donations have been received by the school as well as what they are used for. This way, each donor can be assured that the funds are received and used as they were intended. An overview of current developments and the successful use of donated funds will be set up on this Internet site.

Additionally, the developments of the school are observed first-person by a "Uganda commuter" who visits the area yearly.

A bank transfer to Uganda can sometimes take up to a month. After that, it can take an additional month or longer before an answer is received by mail or e-mail (that is, until Mr. Kateregga travels to the city and finds an Internet connection). We therefore ask for some patience when waiting to hear what has happened with your donation.
