The school's founders

The name of the school, Ssenyimba, is in honor of the Bugandian prince Samson Ssenyimba, the original owner of the land in Mazinga, who handed it down to his son, Boniface S. B. Tebandeke.

Tebandeke founded Ssenyimba Memorial School on this ground in 2002.

Tebandeke studied medicine in England, and later, as a doctor, supervised the medical wards of the Masaka diocese (Uganda).

Tebandekes' son, Deo Kateregga, works as an architect close to the capital city of Kampala. After a visit to Germany in 2002, he desired to do something for the development of the rural population of Uganda. He developed the school's concept together with his father.

There exists close personal contact between the two.

direct contact - direct assistance

Because of the close family relationship involved, it was easy to be convinced of the developmental advances of the Ssenyimba Memorial School. The work, which until now has been financed solely by founder Boniface Tebandeke, has progressed quickly and reliably. We therefore support a project which, because of its solid start, has already proven itself to be viable and trustworthy.
